As an author, teacher and international speaker, Kit Cummings spreads his energy-filled message of power, potential and positive change to the corporate world, the prisons, the schools and his community. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kit has been involved in the field of personal development and leadership for over twenty five years. Kit earned a BBA in Marketing from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia, and he also holds a Masters of Theology. Having worked with Fortune 500 companies and numerous non-profit organizations, Kit has devoted himself to teaching, coaching and training for many years, speaking to tens of thousands of people around the country, as well as overseas.
Trips to Kenya, Philippines, South Africa, East Germany, Denmark, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Ukraine and Honduras helped Kit to learn more about the "human condition" and develop a heart for helping people. Whether it was teaching people about AIDS in the slums outside of Nairobi; serving the homeless people of Manila; gathering with the liberated people of Soweto shortly after Mandela was elected; walking among the impoverished communist citizens before The Wall came down in East Berlin; preaching to tough inmates in Durban, Puebla, and San Pedro Sula; or simply watching little children playing in the hurricane-torn streets of Santo Domingo, Kit came to realize that people are basically the same all over the world. However, some of the least fortunate ones sometimes have the most exceptional attitudes. Kit recently spoke at the Gandhi Global Peace Summit in South Africa.
As a result of his passion for helping people, Kit created and authored "The Power of Peace Project" a program which is now bringing reconciliation and peace to inmates, rival gang members and opposing factions inside some of the toughest maximum security prisons, and is now spreading to prisons and inner city schools across the nation and abroad. Kit also recently launched The Power of Peace Productions, Inc. and partnered with the Catalyst TV & Media Group. Kit serves as a speaker for the National Alternative Education Association, as well as many departments of correction; an advisor to Project KARMA, an organization devoted to youth gang intervention; as well as operating the Lakewood Peace Project in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Atlanta. For his corporate clients Kit brings his experience working in the toughest and roughest environments in the world, into the workplace to be a catalyst for positive CHANGE. With over two decades of experience in various levels of leadership, Kit has excelled as a coach and a teacher where he offers keys and principles that inspire people to see things differently, adjust their thinking, experience break-through and reach new heights. With a motivational style that combines inspiration and humor, Kit's high energy program connects with all types of diverse audiences, whether it be training in small workshops or delivering keynote speeches at large events and seminars.
