Jason Hanson is a former CIA officer, security expert, NRA Certified instructor and a contributor to Combat Handguns and Personal and Home Defense magazines. He is the author of "The Covert Guide to Concealed Carry." Jason earned a partnership with Daymond John by securing a deal on Shark Tank for his popular safety and security seminars.
After graduating with honors from Radford University with a degree in marketing, Jason’s first job out of college was with the Arlington County Police Department. Soon afterwards, Jason was offered jobs by the United States Secret Service and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Jason decided the CIA would be more “exciting” and spent six years with the Central Intelligence Agency where he became an expert in personal protection, risk assessment, firearms, security operations, private investigations, vulnerability assessment, and emergency management. Although the Agency was a wonderful place to work, Jason left the CIA to pursue his passion for training people and corporations on how to protect themselves and he opened his own security business.
Jason has spoken to, trained, and consulted with thousands of Americans on how to keep themselves and their loved ones safer on a daily basis, especially while traveling. This has led to Jason being called, “America’s Travel Safety Expert.”
Jason has worked with some of the world’s largest corporations. His speaking and consulting programs build strategy and a deterrent into the personal demeanor of his corporate clients. The intelligence-based agency approach has helped executives thwart a number of personal and corporate crimes.
Clients boast of preventing kidnappings, home invasions, robbery attempts, and halting a number of other would be personal crimes by deploying new situational tactics.
Jason has appeared on numerous television shows, including the NBC Today Show, the Rachael Ray Show, 9 News, FOX 31 and ABC's Shark Tank. He has also been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post, National Public Radio and Fox News for his security expertise. Jason is an Eagle Scout and was named to Townhall Magazines’ Townhall of Fame in 2013.
